NW Design were delighted to help promote and produce this attractive poster advertisement for the upcoming Charity Football Match in aid of  The Warrington Town Community Development Programme and St. Rocco's Hospice. The match to be played on the Sunday 19th May at 3pm includes a star studied Warrington side that includes boxer Rocky Fielding and ex-Everton great Peter Reid, against an "Emmerdale Select". The day which is for a great cause, is sure to be a fantastic family fun day out.... ...

So like many; you ventured to the land of Twitter. It’s a vast world and can often be a little confusing to navigate at first. The #hashtag is one of the most important ways of organising twitter information. Anyone can make use of the #hashtag by simply typing “#topic” in a tweet. For demonstration purposes if you were to tweet about reading this blog post, you may say “Reading #nwdesign article on using #hashtags with #twitter.” So anyone searching for #nwdesign, #hashtags or #twitter would see your tweet. Once you’ve created a hashtag, other Twitter users can then use that hashtag in their own tweets to expand the conversation on that topic to a larger audience. Hashtags are created by Twitter users and not Twitter and therefore can be as general “#socialmedia” or as specific “#nwdesign” as desired. ...

NW Design recently completed these eye catching pop up displays for Solenoid Valve manufacturer Alpha Controls Ltd. These were produced in line with posters and Data sheets for a recent exhibition in China to promote a new range of flameproof valves. NW Design are now helping to support local charity Winston's Wish with the help of quality graphic design and print services. Who are WInston's Wish? They are a leading childhood bereavement charity and the largest provider of services to bereaved children, young people and their families in the UK. The aim is to establish a service in Wigan, which will be accessible to families wishing to travel from surrounding areas. In recognition of the big derby game tomorrow, we were browsing through our old design work and came across this 21 year old publication.. This 1992 book was designed and produced in a former life for Rugby League Journalist Mike Latham. It was created in the semi-technical age, when computers were helping create the text and layout, but paste up and camera work were still an aspect of the design world.....those good old days of cow gum, drawing boards and darkrooms....sigh.... ...

While having a sort out in the office yesterday we stumbled across one of our previous work samples from 1996. This particular year we had designed the official annual for the TV show Gladiators. Back then we were working on an Apple Mac Performa 475 with a whole upgraded 8mb of ram! This annual holds fond memories - working to a tight deadline and meeting the publisher the next morning, we were finalising the last few pages at around midnight when the old Mac decided to crash, leaving a corrupt file that we couldn't re-open...there was no other options but to re-do all that was lost working many late nights.....happy days.... ...

After a period of busy work activity, we're pleased to launch the revised NW Design website. We've still a bit to go to reach our intended goal and hope to keep adding information over the next few weeks.
